(Harrisburg, PA) October 27
On Saturday, October 29, Occupy Harrisburg will host two events. The first is Occupy Your Capitol Day. Occupy Harrisburg expects many visitors from all over the state who are tired of being ignored to join current Harrisburg occupiers on the Capitol Steps for 24 hours.
The second event is a Halloween party (Saturday 12 noon to 8 PM) and parade. There will be food, music, drum circles, a costume party, face painting, balloons and candy for the kids. They will also have educational and informational seminars and much more! Occupy Harrisburg encourages everyone to come dressed in costume but, for security purposes, asks that visitors do not wear masks.
A protest parade will be held at 3:00 PM and will begin at the Capitol steps, proceeding south on Third Street to Walnut Street. West on Walnut Street to Second Street. North on Second Street to State Street, then east on State Street back to the Capitol. The purpose of the protest parade is to raise awareness of the Occupy movement and to call for social, political and economic justice. Occupy Harrisburg will also reach its two-week birthday of occupying the Capitol steps 24/7. They would like to thank the Central Pennsylvania community for their support and donations, the police for their cooperation, and the press for their attention.
Occupy Harrisburg is a non-violent, non-partisan community in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the more than 1,700 other similar movements taking place in cities throughout the world. Those who want to join protesters in standing up for change are urged to come to Harrisburg’s Capitol steps at Third and State streets in the coming days.

any contingency plans for weather?
Pam we’re still going to have it. I was in Wisconsin in a snowstorm and over 70,000 showed up. Now, we won’t have that, but I think snow is more fun than people give it credit!
